Blacks Solicitors has expanded its business law team by appointing Daisy Jackman as a Solicitor, following the completion of her training contract at the firm. Daisy’s progression from Paralegal to Trainee Solicitor, and now Solicitor, aligns with the firm’s strategy to meet the growing demand for commercial law expertise and support its long-term growth.

Daisy joined Blacks in 2021, gaining experience across various legal disciplines, including Private Wealth, Real Estate, and Corporate Law. Her new role involves advising on commercial agreements such as franchise and distribution contracts, consultancy agreements, and drafting terms and conditions.

This appointment follows the recent promotion of Pete Konieczko-Hansom to Legal Director and Head of the Commercial and Intellectual Property team, further demonstrating the firm’s commitment to nurturing talent and expanding its commercial offering.

This all follows the news that Blacks Solicitors LLP has also reinforced its commitment to developing future legal professionals by awarding five new training contracts and welcoming two apprentices. The firm has retained five newly qualified solicitors since early 2023, including Georgina Beavis, who joins the Real Estate Litigation team, Talah Hussain in the Banking & Finance team, and Daisy Jackman in Corporate & Commercial. This strategic intake aligns with the firm’s focus on expanding expertise in key practice areas to meet growing client demand.

The new trainees will rotate across various legal disciplines over two years, while the firm’s apprenticeship programme continues to grow, now supporting 14 apprentices in diverse legal roles. Blacks offers multiple apprenticeship pathways, including solicitor and paralegal apprenticeships, providing hands-on training across different legal sectors.

Tom Moyes, Training Partner, highlighted the firm’s proactive approach to attracting and nurturing legal talent, which supports Blacks’ ongoing growth as a leading Yorkshire law firm.
